Types of Surface

What is the importance of choosing the implant surface?

Studies show that the type of implant surface can directly influence the success in surgery results.

The choice of an appropriate surface assists the reduction of the predicted adverse effects and the main causes of reoperation, such as: CAPSULAR CONTRACTURE, ROTATION AND PTOSIS.

Knowing the importance of the type of silicone implant surface for the success of the plastic surgeon's work, Silimed, with its vast experience in the production of mammary implants, offers surface options with excellent performances.

The mammary implants with PurePolyurethane surface offer a superior result in augmentation mammaplasties and mastopexies, with the lowest rate of capsular contracture, reduced to only 1% in 10 years.1

Natural Aspect and Soft to the Touch

Low rate of capsular contracture of 1% in 10 years.1

The polyurethane adhesive resists to rotation.2

Its Velcro effect is efficient in patients who suffer from ptosis.2

Excellent performance in the reduction of capsular contracture. Silimed developed its own texturization method, that creates open pores on the shell and guarantees an excellent performance to the implant, reducing the incidence of capsular contracture and contributing to improve the appearance of the breasts with silicone implants, before and after the mammary implant.2

Its own texturization method consists of the formation of open pores on the shell, without using negative printing, sugar or sodium chloride.

Low capsular contracture rate of 8% in 9 years3, when compared to other manufacturers that reported rates of up to 17% in 10 years4 in clinical studies5,6 performed in the USA.

1 After its placement, the silicone implant is naturally enveloped by a tissue capsule, which is a normal reaction of the organism. In some patients, this capsule becomes vigorous enough to harden the breast and even modify its shape, granting a anti-aesthetic and hardened format, also sometimes painful. Therefore, it is a reactive manifestation of the organism to the presence of a foreign body, isolating it through the tissue layer formed on its surroundings, known as the fibrous capsule or fibrotic capsule. We call this reaction of the organism capsular contracture. 2 Capsule that involves the implant.
